One of the great features of belonging to Dallas Sunrise Toastmasters is seeing your golf swing in action... oh wait, that's another blog, but seriously seeing yourself in action can be an invaluable tool in perfecting your speaking style. During our meetings we record all of the speeches and evaluation.
Our videos are hosted on the Vimeo platform and organized under a private Group and then in Albums year. You can view the videos only if you are a member of our group. If you belong to our club we will invite you to our Vimeo Group through an email where you can confirm your interest in using the videos.
If you already have a Vimeo account, you don't need to start another other one. However, the email address sent to you through the invitation will need to match your Vimeo account email address. If you are sent a link to one of your other email addresses (not the one your Vimeo account uses), please contact the VP of Technology to coordinate.
You will need a Vimeo account to access the group and below is a short tutorial on creating a FREE Vimeo account.
Step one - Creating a Free Vimeo account.
In your browser go to the Vimeo.com website. In the upper left-hand side of the browser select "Join."
A "Join Vimeo" popup window will appear. Input your first and last name, email address, and password and select "Join with email".
Note: "Join with Google" is also available, however we are unsure if this grants them access to your contacts, so we recommend not using this method.
Step Two - Finalizing your account
Once you select "Join with email" you will be sent to a page where they put the hard sell on you, but we are going to by pass and opt for the Free account instead. See the image below and look for the tiny text "No Thanks" and click on it.
Next, you will be sent to your new "Home" page. Hover over the Smiley face in the upper right-hand corner and a drop-down menu will appear. Click on "Collections".
Under your collections click on the Group called "Dallas Sunrise Toastmasters".
Here you will be able to access all of the Dallas Sunrise Toastmasters videos. You can narrow down your search by selecting the "Albums" under the "BROWSE THIS GROUP" column on the right-hand side of the window.
We will continue to add Albums to the site, so keep checking back if you are looking for videos older than 2017.
Click on the Album you want to view and then click on the video you want to watch.
Step Four - Logging out
You can log out at anytime by hovering over the Smiley face again and selecting Logout from the bottom of the dropdown menu.
